During 120 years of its existence the mines of the enterprise extracted, processed and marketed to consumers more than 200 million tons of salt, which is a vital mineral used in a large quantity of industries. If all the salt mined by the enterprise became a pyramid, then the hypothetic 500-meter high structure would have exceeded the famous Cheops pyramid in terms of height - thrice and volumetrically – 38 times.
Four operating mines of Artyomsol association may ensure annual extraction, processing and shipment of salt to consumers in the volumes, exceeding 7 million tons.
The reserves of Artyomovsk salt deposit, which occupies an area of 170 square kilometers will suffice for thousands of years. Only one percent of Artyomovsk rock-salt deposit was exhausted during 300 years of commercial operation (taking into account more primitive method of pan-salt production).
