The beginning of salt-production at the mines of Artyomsol is connected with application of hard manual labour during the whole process of production. The first salt-workers drilled boreholes, blasted and loaded salt into tubs by hand. Horses hauled salt to the shaft where it was brought to the grass by means of a steam hoist-engine. Carbide and kerosene lamps lighted working areas.
Advance of science and technology is reflected in work organization of the underground and the salt-processing complex, computerization and automation of handling operations and in longstanding time-proved marketing and sales policy of the enterprise.
Modern systems of extracting this natural resource, progressive method of salt-cutting, conveyer transport and product stream lines of over the ground salt-processing complex exclude application of hard manual labor during basic production processes and ensure high quality of products and industrial safety. Engineering services of the enterprise have done much for diversification of products assortment, as well as improving its quality to achieve absolute satisfaction of numerous consumers.
The technology of extraction and processing at all mines is approximately identical and ensures the production of products in the assortment provided by the valid normative documentation.
The technology provides production of various types of milled, sieved, dust-free and grain-sized salt. It is produced unpacked and packed in:
– paper packets of 0,5 and 1 kg;
– paper packets with the inside bag of 1,5 kg;
– polypropylene packets with folding edges of 1 kg;
– polypropylene packets of 10 g, 500 g;
– polymer buckets of 180 g, 450 g, 500 g (sieved salt);
– polymer buckets of 800 g, 1000 g (salt for baths).
Compacting of briquettes, cutting of salt blocks, producing of salt lamps and souvenirs is also performed.
The technology provides the production of various types of packed salt weighing from 10 g to 1 ton with a multiple packaging in:
– thermo-shrinkage film and stretch film;
– flexible containers (big-bags);
– polypropylene bags of 10, 25 and 50 kg with polyethylene liner or without it;
– boxes made of corrugated cardboard and collapsible trays.
Some types of products are put on pallets and packed with a stretch film with additional binding of a polypropylene tape. To avoid spillage during the transporting of unpacked salt by the rail the railway cars can be treated with the soft liners made of a polypropylene laminated fabric.
The introduction of new optical sorting lines with separation from the salt of “dark” inclusions of the natural origin and new lines for the production of packed salt in paper packets weighing 0, 5 kg, 1, 0 kg and automatic packing into a group package of shrinkage film of 12 kg and 15 kg respectively promote better saturation of the market and complete satisfaction of the population’s demand, lightens the work of packers, and improves industrial design.
The enterprise has significant capacities for introduction of various additives (agents). Technological lines ensure the production of high-quality iodized salt, salt with additive preventing caking and clumping (anticaking agent), feed salt enriched by the microelements.
